Music of the World: Paco Ibáñez canta os poetas latino-americanos
Salvador Dalí called him «the most Spanish of all voices». But this doesn’t mean Paco Ibañez, a historic figure of the opposition to Franco’s dictatorship, didn’t want to sing other lands and voices of Castilian expression. At seventy he set out to homage some of the most important Latin American poets, and so he brings to us in his songs the words of Alfonsina Storni from Argentina, César Vallejo from Peru, Pablo Neruda from Chile, Nicolás Guillén from Cuba, and Rubén Darío from Nicaragua.
